The 3rd annual Run for the Village is a 5K run
and walk to benefit Eden Children's Village in Mhangura, Zimbabwe.
The race will take place at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Eastern High School
in Pekin, Indiana. 100% of the race
profit will be used to benefit Eden
Children's Village.
Overall male and female winners will receive a trophy and $50 gift card to
Pacers and Racers Running/Walking Store. Trophies will be presented to
the top three individuals in each age group (male and female). The age
groups are 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 &
Up. There will also be a 1/4
mile kids' run at 9:00 A.M. Gatorade and ice cream cones will be
available to all participants following the race. Pictures taken during
the race will be available for purchase within 24 hours of the race at Thurman Jones Photography.
All profits from picture sales will be used to benefit Eden Children's
Village as well. A big thank you goes to First
Baptist Church of Salem, Indiana,
Pacers and Racers, Kohl's, and all of the businesses and
individuals that have sponsored and helped fund this project. To

Eden Children's Village is located
in Mhangura, Zimbabwe. It is run by Kevin
and Susan Fry, who are Christian missionaries from Goshen, Indiana.
The village exists to serve AIDS orphans by providing spiritual, physical,
medical, emotional, and educational assistance in a Christian family
setting. Eden currently takes care of
approximately 160 children, provides a medical clinic for people in the area,
and provides children with a school, Eden Christian
Academy, which was
